Another idea was to focus on the romance of rain. When i was making some design sheets i came up with this idea of the handles crossing to make a love heart shape, so i thought i'd play around with that idea as well as umbrellas for use of imagery anyway, without the romance element...

Creating the love heart. I like the idea but the imagery isn't really working for me yet, I may come back to it later. 

I decided to clean the illustration of the umbrella up a little bit until i was happy with it.  I added this subtle gradient to the inside of the umbrella to give it some definition and to make it look more three dimensional. 

I then added the gradient to the top too as i thought this would benefit from it. Only subtle but makes the world of a difference. I will now try to add this illustration into some more designs to see if i can get something to work.

Adding the illustration into my rain drops. I really like the look of the bottom one. Its clean cut, simple and effective. I need a way of linking the text with it and give it some more meaning without making it look tacky. 

Trying to add the type. I'm not sure this is working again. It looks a bit 'amateurish' and obvious in my opinion. I will have to re-work or work with a different idea to try and come up with something.
