We then went on to measure up some grids on newspapers and also measure to find out the point size and leading size of the certain type. I found this really interesting and definitely something i will be using g in future if i find a size and leading of font that i really like on a page and just to gain a better knowledge of type and grid.
Our task for next week was to collect a newspaper and draw a grid, then measure the type out.
We then had to get an exsisting magazine with a not to fancy layout, in which we can sketch up a grid over the top, then transfer that grid onto a different sheet of paper ready to be used in our next session, where we will learn to sketch some thumbnail layouts to help design layouts before moving straight into InDesign.
