Design Principles // Hot Dog Fold Booklet // The Anatomy Of Typography

I started to design my hot-dog fold booklet after brushing up on the anatomy of type just to make sure i go all the correct terms in place. I wanted to keep the booklet simple inside, using only two colours, the colour of the type and the guide lines to see how everything matches up. I figured this would be the easiest and simplest way of getting the information across but still making it look really visually appealing.

I started by creating The front and back cover. I thought that it would be a neat idea to keep the guide lines running throughout the full booklet on all pages as well as the poster on the back.

I then went on to create all the pages of the inside booklet. I wanted to keep the information inside simple and easy to understand but also visually appealing so it would be nice to look at as well as learn for somebody who is interested in Typography.

I carried the design on through the booklet, keeping the guidelines throughout and added the text and nice dotted lines coming from each of the different parts. Each page will have two letter on and will finally spell out 'Typography'.

Layout of the booklet when open, the top line would be printed upside down to fit correctly.

This is the original layout of the booklet printed out as a template. Obviously it would be on a nice stock but it still seems to be a little bit dry. I'm going to play around with it and see if i can come up with anything that looks a little bit more interesting but is still a useful source of information. I'l experiment a little bit more with the poster idea.
