Alphabet Soup - Illustrator Workshop - Typeface Colour Experiments

Colour overlapping experiment. Not really relevant to the brief but i was just playing around and come up with some interesting results.

Seeing what a colour overlap looks like on the black silhouette. I wanted to take full advantage of the using black plus one other colour but not sure if it is necessary to the typeface i have created. I really like the contrast of the black silhouette on its own against the background.

I liked the results when i kept the black silhouette but changed the colour of the background to a different, lighter, pastel shade. In this case the light turquoise works well as the background, definitely a possibility.

Experimenting using words just to see how my type looks in context. Here i've kept the background black. I don't think it works well on it's own but running with the theme of the film 'Pulp Fiction' just because i was watching it at the time. The yellow and red colours work well overlapping on the black background.

Much more subtle attempt at changing the colour of the background from white. Here i have kept it black and grey with no colour. This is less busy and works well for the black to sit on without clashing too much with the background. The background just makes it slightly less contrasting than just black on white.

What i hope to do is maybe print on a grey or textured stock for the final piece.
