OUGD503 - Creative Partners - Pill Box Packaging

For The Pills, I wanted to keep a consistency from the perfume, so therefore keeping exactly the same style packaging but in a different format. We had previously discussed that we wanted the style of the tablets to be in a business card format, with the plastic packer sliding out of the cardboard casing. As we was already well on the way with the vacuum formed packaging, I decided to mock up the packaging as we would want it to look...

Plastic Casing (Front & Back)

The plastic Casing for the front and back of the swallowable parfum packaging. The front is moulded from vacuum formed packaging where as the back is black in printed on silver foil. I'm not sure how i'm going to achieve this yet but will speak to james about what stock can go through the printers and what would be the closest to what we need. When this is printer, the pills will fit into the four sections and the silver foil can be glued flush to the back of the plastic.

Close ups of the detail. The front will be raised moulded around the plastic and the repeat diagonal pattern can be printed then trimmed later. The reason for the repeat is that once the pills have been popped out, areas of the print will be ripped and illegible. This will make sure the information is accessible at all times.

Plastic Casing & Cardboard Sleeve

The cardboard sleeve will keep the same consistent style as the perfume. This was a well considered concept to relate each fragrance from bottle to packet simultaneously and instantly. There will be a die cut section at the bottom of each packet. This will be so the plastic insert can easily be grabbed and pulled out when needed.

These screen grabs show how the plastic insert will work with the cardboard sleeve when the user interacts with it. The cardboard sleeve will be closed at one end meaning that the insert pulls out from the bottom, and can push back into the bottom.

Plastic Sleeve (Front & Back)

The back of the packet will also keep a similar consistent style to the content on the bottle packaging. Very swiss, left aligned clean helvetica. This relates to the original inspiration of vintage giegy packaging and also fits in with medicine packaging of today, without cheapening the product in any way.

The content on the back was very much derived from medical packaging. However, I had to clearly state that the capsules are in no way medicine and do not have any effects on the brain or body other than the scents released through your pours. There is also sections about the product, ingredients and dosage which again make it appear like medicine, with clear body copy to explain that it isn't.

These screen grabs show how the back of the cardboard sleeve and back of the plastic packaging will look when the user interacts with it. The repeat pattern fits well with the theme and only adds to the strong 'medical' theme that runs across all products.

50mg Capsules

The tablet capsules will be two colour plastic containers with powder inside. The inside colour will always be white, and the outside colour will be that of the chosen scent, in this case red. This shows the consistency of the brand and colour scheme thorough all aspects.

Separate Fragrances

Here is an example of how the pills might look if taken into production. The four separate colours will be used for the four separate pills. It will also be not much extra money to print the brand logo and the content '50mg' onto the plastic coating. This was influenced by the vintage geigy pills and is also used on a variety of pills today.

I also mocked up the sepearte fragrances in pill format, each with their own pills as well as a pack of four, which will include one of each pill. This gives the customer a taster of everything before purchasing one scent...
