OUGD503 - Photographer Branding - Photoshoot / Finals

Original Photographs

As the photographer was mobile and shot on location a lot of the time, I suggested that the stationary should be shot against a very natural background to emphasise that it could be possibly outside, but not in an over the top way. We both agreed that these wooden decking panels would be the perfect balance. They are fairly worn, which add the weathered look of the outdoors, but they also provide an organised flat surface which will be perfect for the neat set-up.

I also wanted to include elements of photography kit that the photographer might use on location within the branding, which I feel would help sell the service more legitimately and also combine the beauty of design and photography in the best possible way.

I added some of the photographers bits and pieces of kit that I thought would fit with the brand and was small/big enough to work with the stationary. These items were;-

- An SLR Film Camera
- A Camera Release Steel Cable
- A Portable Flash Gun
- A Camera Zoom Lens
- Various Filters

I also photographed the pieces of stationary which I had previously created :-

- Business Cards
- Letterhead
- Envelope
- Fold Out Leaflet Promo
- Compliment Slip

Here are the original photographs taken on set by me for my portfolio, via scribd ;-

Final Selection of Images & Edits

I edited the images with a colour filter over the top of them. This brought down the harshness of the pink colour to a more realistic view of what it looks like in person. I feel this helps solidify the brand through the chosen colour scheme and works perfectly with the edited images mixed throughout.  It also adda an overall professionalism throughout the set of photographs, making them all link together nicely. The down side is that some of the detail is lost, and it could look like i've jut photographed white stock and added the filter. It might work better to have a balance, with colour. Or maybe just reduce the saturation a little bit. Here are the final images however;-
