OUGD404 // What Is A Line // Girls - Second Zine Idea

My next idea was to collage girls from behind. This came from Ross suggesting the idea to me as a zine as he said that 'most people would definitely buy one'. As the whole idea of the zines i am creating was meant to be a little bit quirky and something you could sell at a book/craft fair i thought it would appeal to a more contemporary audience and definitely would stand out in the crowd.

My idea was to take images that i sourced of girls form behind and change them into black and white, possibly halftone them, i will also be adding colour and texture and possibly other various collage techniques in order for them to give  a 'vintage' feel and to also make them work as a set.

the idea is simple but works.

A few ideas for the name of this zine that have come to mind...

- Girls From Behind
- Butt
- Bums
- Back (A play on front magazine with girls form the back)
- Behind
- Rear View

I quite like either the first one for being true to its word or maybe 'Back', This sounds subtle and is also pretty clever.

After sourcing my images i started to work into them and form these collages...

These are obviously not finished yet, I'm considering cropping and re-working into sections. I want the halftone and background textures to come through more and may consider cropping them so that you can't really tell what they are...

Also been looking at half-toning the images and it seems to work really well. Would love to screen print some of these but it is going too far off the brief...

 I really like the idea of the lines and tones coming through when the image is close in, relating back to the initial idea of the brief. When printing, i may crop into sections, i think this would work really well.
