DandAD // Design Is About Doing // Poster Brief

I am now working on a D&AD live brief that has been set by Krik Kessels. The brief is to create a set of three A2 Posters about the rain in our country...

"It always rains in your country. Make a poster for visitors to the UK explaining why so much rain is attractive. Don't be sarcastic, after all, rain can be romantic, useful or beautiful."

To start i have been doing research on Erik Kessels himself and about rain in England. This is over on my Design Context Blog. I have figured that much of Kessels work is sort of in the style of swiss modernist design, or at least heavily influenced by this. That is why i have chosen to base my design along these lines also. I think by doing this, i have a better chance of him liking and possibly choosing my design as the winning piece.

As for the information included, i have chosen to look broadly at why rain is good in the UK first, and maybe i will narrow this down before i put it onto my poster.

Things that i am wanting to include into my poster are...

- Big San Serif Type
- Angled Text
-A small paragraph or body copy section with information
-Possibly imagery that is related (unsure about this yet)

Before heading straight into swiss modernist designs i am going to experiment and gather imagery and information together to see the other possibilities. Make some more design sheets to see which way of approaching this would be the best...

Here is my initial Design Sheet. I have been looking at various different imagery and information and basically just jotting down some initial ideas...
