OUGD503 - Creative Partners - Applying Colour Through Phycology

We decided that we wanted the colours used for each fragrance to be representative of the mood which is why I looked into Colour Physcologu before applying this to the Layout for the boxes. I had to start this by looking back at the Four chosen Chemicals, then finding words linked to these chemicals which will in turn give me a starting point when applying colour:-

Applying this to a palette

These colours go well as a colour spectrum together. This would go Blue, Green/Yellow, Orange then Red. I went on to choose the colour palette, with help from the PANTONE matching system and Adobe Kuler.

Some Initial Colour Schemes. I wanted to keep the Colour Scheme fairly bold but with all the colours being able to work consistently as a set as well as a stand alone piece sold seperatly. The colours have to be strong enough to have instant visual impact when placed together on a shelf as well as on their own, on a persons dresser.

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue

Chosen Colour Scheme

I felt that these colours work well both as a set and as stand alone pieces. There is a straight divide from red / yellow to Green and Blue which portrays the separate emotions perfectly. The colours are not just garish bright colours, but are well considered and create a balanced palette. This obviously might changed when applied to the layouts but this works as a solid base to work from.
