5 skills that I want to improve on and make better:-


Concept - I want to spend more time on the idea as a pose to the design. Good design is 'nice' but if it lacks a strong concept, it's no good.

Craft - I want to experiment more with unusual craft - This could be paper Craft such as unusual posters, folding methods, binding. And how these work in the context they are placed.

Proposal - I want to broaden my design proposal to a much larger scale in relation to a grander concept. I want to experiment more with things that cannot really be made but will be proposed to help the concept.

Print - Different print methods, possibly screen print, UV paint, paint on stock. A little bit more experimental for the promotion side of things.

Software - Develop Software skills. I want to make a more well rounded and in depth publication using Indesign.






5 ways to improve these skills :-


- Spend more time on the concept before taking to a computer and designing.

- Spend more time researching and experimenting with paper craft to help back up a concept. Something a little bit different.

- Focus on different techniques. Maybe with Print Processes, Different types of Ink. Unusual Stock and UV Paint?

- Use Indesign more to create a more well rounded publication

- Be more articulate and analytical with my research and how it relates to my project. And also my own work.




For Next Tuesday:-


- Five Examples of Branding & Logos similar to what your concept is and de-construct them.
- Think about why have they used particular typefaces, colours and branding relating to the project.
- Bring in Printed Versions. In Colour.

- Five Examples of Print that I like that have aspects that I want to explore over this project
- Think about Print Methods, Binding, Foiling, UV Paint Etc...
- Bring in Printed Versions. In Colour.
